  1. This is the first time I've tried to burn a vcd of a movie too big for a single CD. Do I have to manually cut the movie into two pieces and burn them separately? I thought Nero would be smart enough to simply prompt me for the second CD when the first was full, but no such luck. The file was labeled as "VCD Ready" when I downloaded it, but obviously needs some manipulating before I can burn it.

Thanks for helping a newbie out!

Or use an 80min cd instead of a 74min one!

  4. Hmm, so the movie is 107 minutes long. I just get a prog that can split movie files, pick a happy moment, and snip? Any recommendations on a good prog?

    Thanks,
    S.

  5. Are there any little programmes that let you directly edit the MPEG file to "top and tail" it (ie. trim small amounts from the start and end of a file) a bit like mp3trim does for MP3 audio files? I don't want all this decoding to avi and re-encoding to MPEG1, but would rather just edit the MPEG file directly.

  7. I find it best to use the cut and merge tool that comes with TMPGEncoder..

you can use the slide bar and view the movie so you can crop it in the best place, also make sure you choose Video CD so that the cropped files will be VCD compliant...

  8. I agree with pauly2K. TMPGEnc is extremely effective. I've done 4 myself without a glitch. Go to MPEG from the file menu.
