  1. Hey kids. I'm pulling out my hair trying to figure out why my VCD burns are ending up under my soda instead of in my DVD player. I've captured an mpeg1 using the following specs:

    1.150 Mbit/s, 352x240, 29,97 fps, MPEG II audio @224 kbit/s.

Now, when I go to burn with Easy CD Creator, the program begins to finalize my disc right away, and reports a succesful burn 2 minutes later. I'm left with a coaster

Nero seems to do everything right, but as it tries to close the disc it reports an that it could not close disc at once... I'm including the buffer below.

What should I try next.. please shed some light.

Have you tried playing it in the computer ?
Probably media incompatibility, what's your dvd player ?
Try using another brand of cd-r and try it on cd-rw

  3. Hey... yea, on one of the coasters, I can play the .dat fine. Isn't that like a backend way to view the movie, though?

My dvd player is a RCA RC5220P and it can read VCDs, I checked the manual. I could try different media but I just got done backing up mp3s to 30 of these same cds (K Hypermedia 80 min - light green flavor) and I didn't have one bad burn then.

  5. Not likely to cause your problem, but I noticed you don't have DMA enabled for your CD drives. It's highly recommended that you enable it for at least the recorder.

there's a difference between comercially pressed vcd and the one that we burn in a cd-r. I'm sure your dvd manual means that it can played a pressed vcd as for cd-r,just try around with different media. Most likely your dvd player will read cd-rw disc. try it,you can erase it later on anyway
