  1. Hi,

I've really had a lot of problems, it seems like my computer isn't recognizing my firewire card or video studio isn't linking to it.

If you have this combination or suggestions to help please post. I've tried everything I can find out about.

    I'm trying to capture from a DVMC-2, windows 98, 1.2 ghz,

    Thanks, Jerry

  2. i am not sure, but i have read/heard that you need 98 second edition for firewire. like i said, i am not positive, and i have noticed on some of the boxes of firewire cards, under requirements, that both 98 & 98se are listed....who knows. i dont have ulead & firewire, but i help my friend a lot with his set-up (i even installed the card for him); he uses ulead with his firewire. he got videostudio bundled with his firewire card. did you get the software with a bundle?

  3. Hi,
Yes my firewire card came bundled with the video studio 4. I do have windows 98se. I'm actually new to the pc world, more accustomed to macs.

I'm setting the pc up just for conversion of vhs tapes thru the sony dvmc-2 firewire. No other programs are currently on the computer. After initial set-up I couldn't get it to capture, then after a lot of misc. hard work it started working (no idea what I did) Then after using quicktime it stopped working.

Today I formatted the drive and reinsalled 98se hoping to get it working again but no luck.

I've downloaded the firewire update and hope when I learn how to install it will help.

    Thanks, Jerry
