  1. My DVD player plays the DVD+RW format no problems.

Here is the situation. I copied the files of a DVD to my hard drive because I had to give the DVD back to the owner. I then purchased a dual format DVD burner and copied the .vob files onto the DVD+RW. But it does not play for some reason. I copied it as a Data DVD using Roxio DVD Creator.
I then tried Roxio's DVD builder and it ecncodes the .vob files (which takes forever) and produces output too great to put on a 4.7GB DVD even when the compression is set to high.

Can someone tell me how to burn .vob files from my hard drive to a DVD to that a DVD player will recognize the format as a valid DVD (and not as a data DVD)?

Do I need to convert the vob files? Is there a software program that will burn the .vob files according to what I need it to do?

    Please help...thanks

do you have the .ifo and .bup files, they are needed for the dvd to play.
If you dont have them use ifoedit to create new ones (this will work for movie only and no extras can be included), better still if you can get the original disk then rip the ifos/bups from the disk.

If the disk is copyrighted material it is illegal for you to make a copy as you do not own the original

  3. Did you rip the VOBs only or you got some other files too?

    Oops one minute late......
You stop me again whilst I'm walking and I'll cut your fv<king Jacob's off.

  4. Here is a list of the files I have in the folder:

    Name Size
    VIDEO_TS.BUP 12288
    VIDEO_TS.IFO 12288
    VIDEO_TS.VOB 38912
    VTS_01_0.BUP 86016
    VTS_01_0.IFO 86016
    VTS_01_1.VOB 1067827200
    VTS_01_2.VOB 1067827200
    VTS_01_3.VOB 1067827200
    VTS_01_4.VOB 1067827200
    VTS_01_5.VOB 407715840

How would I burn this to make a playable DVD?

    Thanks
