  1. I have encoded a mpeg to Pal 4:3 format & in vcd 2.0

I burnt the mpeg onto a vcd & it plays fine in my dvd player in my pc, but won't play on my Philips DVD 730 player

I've checked & the player supports vcd discs. Does anyone know what i'm doing wrong ??????

  3. Yes, the player does support cdr & cdrw, but still nothing.

I recently purchased a star trek vcd collection & they are encoded with the vcd 1.2 format, whereas mine are encoded with vcd 2.0

Do you think that would be a problem ???

It says on the dvd players compatibility list that the player is vcd compatable, but it doesn't state by which one.

  7. Could depend on your CD-r used as I have found that some brands despite working properly in my computer fail in my DVD player. Try burning the CD at the slowest speed as this can sometimes help the DVD player if it gets errors while trying to play. Also for some unknown reason I have found that turning PBC off on the DVD player also helps sometimes but more with SVCDs.
