  1. I burned some backups of region 5 dvds that won't play in my PC. I used DVD Shrink and Nero. They play fine in 3 standalone units(Panasonic, Pioneer and Aiwa). I tried PowerDVD and Windows Media player, neither would play. I tried to play in my Pioneer DVP-105 and my LiteOn 401s. What is wrong?

  2. I've also encountered the same problem. Initially, I thot it was my Ricoh MP5125A burner that's causing the problem, but later realized that it was the CMC DVD+R media I was using.

Put your burnt DVD into the PC, go to Windows Explorer and see if you can find the VIDEO_TS folder and its contents. Nothing, right? Results from ISOBUSTER gave me a blank disc, even though I was able to play them on my standalone PIONEER.

I've posted this before and was told that after the finalization process was dodgy, which resulted this. I switched to another brand of media and this problem dissappeared.

Maybe someone else has a different opinion ...

  3. 1. What's DVDInfo PRO say?

    2. Is there a FW update available?

    3. Is that the latest Nero?

  4. I have upgraded my Richoh firmware to the latest (v1.64) and using NERO v551042, still no go.

In the end, switched to another media (as long as it's not CMC), and no more problems after that.

  5. I was gonna ask the original poster.

We all know most of the CMC plus medias are crap.

  6. The media is TDK, which I believe is Ricoh.
