Hi! I am having the following problem:
when i download either avi versions or mpeg versions of movies, they are usually in 2 parts. Well my problem is the following i am joining them to make the movie into one complete movie(Ive tried several processes to do this.)
Anyways, when I get done and and author the dvd its fine til right about where theyre joined and then I lose audio sync. I have tried the following:
-Joining them in TMP.
-Converting them to AVI(in MPG Case). I have then tried join the two avis together and doing it. Ive tried making a seperate wav and multiplexing it together.
I think Ive tried a couple of other things too. Can anyone help with this problem please?
Thanks
Jake

I don't do DVD but...I don't think you need to join them. Create two mpegs, drop them into your authoring app and away you go. Anybody else can confirm?

There are a NUMBER of people out there with headaches over joining so you're aren't alone
Your best bet is if they are DVD compliant, drop each of them into your authoring program and then burn. I agree with Zippy on this one
I use to do CVD (with 48mhz audio) to backup my movies and then when I got my burner, I would dump them both into movie factory II and burn it. The only "difference" was that on the 2nd and 3rd CD, I set up dvd2svcd to put a 2 second repeat on it so when there is a transition, it plays the previous 2 seconds. I probably should just rereip them from my original, but I am too lazy
The only other thing you could probably do is demux the video and audio with TMPGENC and rebuild the streams to match the video. Pain in the butt process. The problem is most of the backups people do are VBR and it is a nightmare with rejoining. If you got time to burn, you can try one of the many guides which walk you through the process. -
Thanks guys for the input ive tried many of the guides. Dont seem to work for me. I dunno. I never used to have this problem soo who knows. Thanks though and Ill try the things u suggested.
