    2 things:

1.)I'm trying to put 88mins onto one CD but in nero they just show up as their normal length in the bar down the bottom. im using VideoCD and unchecking standard compliancy cd. here are the settings im using in TMPG Enc:

    MPEG-1 352x288 25fps CBR 1044kbps, Layer-2 44100Hz 160kbps

is there anything i am setting wrong?

2.)i really need a copy of TMPGEnc 12j. please email to ryder@iinet.net.au

Any help is thanked in advance.

  2. Nero sucks at burning xVCD or (x)SVCD. It assumes that you have the normal template and calculates the time off that. Instead use VCDImager + VCDImager Gui to make an image of the MPEG, and then burn the imager (Nero is ok for this).

Your mpg is multiplexed as a vcd. The multiplexor/encoder added padding to make your mpg vcd compliant so its still just as big as if you had encoded it at the regular vcd bitrate.

Demultiplex in TMPGenc and then remultiplex but this time choose mpeg-1 video cd non-standard.

Sorry I didn't mean for my post to sound so resolute. That is just my best guess as to why your filesize is still the same. To test my theory go ahead and try remuxing first.

I don't know if there is a way to tell TMPGenc whether or not to pad your mpg when using lower than standard bitrates, I doubt there is. I don't even know if TMPGenc DOES pad mpgs during encoding, like I said it was just a guess. But lucky for you mpeg1 (de)muxing is fast.
