    whether I add a backround image, or not, Nero makes the menu's resolution to 704 x 480. Is there any way that I can make it smaller, to 320 x 240, so that it fits the TV screen when I run it in my standalone DVD player?

    Whether it be 704x480 or 352x240, it will fit on your TV screen. But, the resolution will be lower with 352x240.
