    Hello,

I have been using WinDVD 3.2 that came on my computer since I bought it. It has worked pretty well but it has now become outdated enough that it won't play many types of files.

I am gonna bite the bullet and purchase a new version of one of the software players. I just need a little advice.

I am pretty happy with WinDVD but have read that PowerDVD5 is often rated above WinDVD5.

I use it mainly to view NTSC DVDs but also sometimes PAL and SVCD and VCD content. What will do all this properly (best) and not interfere with ripping, converting, writting etc? Whats most tweakable for best video quality and interfaces with DVDGenie best?

Thanks for any suggestions or guidance.

    Mike

I've been using PowerDVD 4.0 for quite a while and it works great. They have a new version out that looks even better. I would highly recommend it.

  3. If you don't already have Windows Media Player 9, you might want to look at that With the proper codecs, it will play everything that you want and it's free.
