I've been using smartripper (and more recently dvd decrypter), ifoedit, and nero to create backup copies of one of my favorites tv series I have on dvd. I watch it quite a bit, and I tend to scratch my disks up. I've been using this method to backup dvds for quite a long time, and it's always worked just fine for me. I usually put two of the episodes in a folder, name them vts_01_1.vob and so on, and then run ifoedit on them and burn them. Recently, however, everytime I create a dvd this way when I go to play it in my dvd player it has problems when you try to fast forward, and after it gets to a certain point it starts skipping from chapter to chapter until the end of the disc. I am still able to get dvds to work just fine that i copy using dvdxcopy, so I know my burner still works. I can even get dvds small enough i can rip the entire dvd and burn them using nero (exact copies) to work fine. The only time I have a problem is when I have to use ifoedit to create the ifo files. I'm guessing this is my problem. I've tried it on different computer, with different discs (even different series), and I still cannot get it to work right. I'm really at my wits end and I cannot figure out why, after having no problem with this for months, it will no longer work. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

  2. yes ifo edit is ur problem, If you are using the one before 0.95 this does have problems with creating new ifo files. As it wont know where to put the chapter points, as you have put 2 films together. The new version 0.95 looks at the cells in the vob files and creates a chapter point at every cell. Which is a much better way of creating new ifo's.

As you didnt say which version you use i cant go into much detail.
