  1. I recently purchased a Panasonic DVD-RV31K. I understand that it will play VCDs created from a computer.

My question, is there a brand or particular type of blank CD-Rs or RWs that will allow playback. I have created VCDs on several different brands of blank CDs with mixed results. None of which will playback the video or audio.

I am hoping that you can help.

    Thanks in advance

  2. I have tried several types of CD-R media with no problems. I tried TDK and am now using PNY's from Bestbuy. I will play all the VCD's I've copied.

Is there a trick to making a VCD on the Panasonic DVD-RV31K?

I downloaded the sample mpeg from the VCD site. I followed the instruction on using EasyCD Creator as posted on the VCD site and I do not have video or audio.

I am really new at this. I burn the cd, put it in the player, press play and expect something to happen. I have used PNY, Maxell and other media - no sound no video.

It has got to be something with my skill set or lack there of. Can you guide me.

I contacted Panasonic and they said that I cannot use home generated VCD.

Anything you can offer will be appreciated.

    Thanks

    grova,

I've got the RV30, a different model but maybe similar. I can't get a CDR to work to save my life but it has read virtually every kind (9-10 diff brands) of CDRW I've thrown at it. I eventually settled on Circuit City's 'Digitial Media' brand of CDRW mostly because I can get them virtually free after mail-in rebates.

    Have a good one,
