Well, I am finally starting to figure out some of this stuff. Last night I demuxed some VOBs so that I could author them to a new DVD with a nice menu, chapters, and all that. I used VOBEdit to demux them to separate audio and video files, then used something else to mux them together into an MPEG. Then I authored the MPEG to my new DVD and it worked beautifully.
I'm just wondering, with all the conversions (demuxing/muxing) going on, if I am losing any quality? Anyone know?
Thanks,
Brian

demuxing and remuxing will have no effect on quality as you are not actually changing any video or audio data, just seperateing out then joining together the streams. It has been known to cause audio sync problems on occasion though!
