  1. I can't seem to get the audio to sound correctly when I capture from my video card. It's an ATI AIW 128 Pro. I don't see why it wouldn't work properly, I've downloaded the newest drivers for everything according to the VCDHelp guide here. I have DirectX 8.0, the Video Capture Update, and all the newest display drivers for ATI. When I run the TV program, the sound is fine on my computer. But when I capture is when I have the problem, the sound is much quieter than when I was listening to it (I have to turn my speakers all the way up to hear it normally), and I get an airy muffled sound over it. I've played with the audio settings in the bottom right corner for the recording settings, and nothing helps. Someone recommending to me turning some of the volumes down to their half way mark, but all that does is quiet the audio file itself, not the muffled sound. Here's an example of the audio quality I'm getting. http://www.yourgiftstore.net/testclip.mpg Can someone PLEASE help me figure out this audio problem or give me some recommendations, it's holding me back from the world of digitizing!

  2. i have the same problem. when i captured my video from my vhs, the picture and sound were great but when i played it back before encoding it, i could hardly hear the sound. i have ati tv wonder ve card. i made a vcd before, maybe 5 months ago, i didn't have this problem. maybe it's the sound card because when i bought a new pair of speakers with subwoofer, it sounded great at the store. when i hooked it up, they sounded good for a while but later, they didn't sound like it was before.
