Last week VCDs I would burn would not play on my stabdalone DVD player. I did the same things I always do to burn VCDs using the same software (Roxio EazyCD Creator, Record NowDX or VCDEasy) with the same equipment, media and video files. Nothing worked. I rebooted my computer and that seemed to fix the problem.

Now it is happening again and rebooting has not fixed the issue. I made sure I am Burning and closing the Disc, tried burning on 2 burners, various CDs with no luck.

The VCD files are on the Discs but when I put them into my standalone DVD player, it tells me to insert disc. My DVD players have always been able to play the VCDs I burn and I have not done anything diffrent now.

It appears to me that the VCDs are not being finalized. when I examine the VCDs, the non working ones do not have a darker area around the rim like the ones that do work.

I am using Windows XP and a Sony DRX500ULX DVD burner and an older internal CD burner.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Thank You.
