  1. I have a recent problem with Virtual Dub that I didn't have before. I locate bad frames in a XviD avi, cut them out. I play the brief sequence before saving to make sure they're gone. Then I "Save as AVI". When I open the new file, the frames I cut out are still there. Does anyone know what gives? I have also been having codec blues. A buddy gives me Xvid's that he says plays fine but on my machine the audio leads the video by half a second.

If you're following this procedure, don't forget to Press Edit> then delete key to remove those bad frames. I know I've inadvertently forgotten that step a few times.

  4. I have triple checked my procedure now and am doing what I have done in the past. And like I said, I view it in in Vdub before I save as avi and it is okay.

You are using VirtualDub MP3 Freeze, aren't you?

  6. Make sure that direct stream copy is checked for video and audio. Maybe you were using full processing mode and forgot to change it.
