  1. I have a video capture card and managed to capture some VHS tapes program to MPEG2 format and then use NERO to burn to SVCD format (480x480). I like this format as it seems to be clearer than VCD when
    played on my DVD player.

Problem that I have is I am unable to play this SVCD type of MPEG2 file using Windows Media Player at all on my PC. I'm not sure what kind of codec I am missing. In the SVCD disc, the MPEG2 folder contains the .mpg files. When I try to play it using Windows Media Player (version 9), it displays the unknown error. I can play the disc file in a DVD player.

Normally for VCD, I can play the .DAT file using Windows Media Player fine (it is a MPEG1 format) in the MPEGAV folder with no problem

    Any ideas?
