Hi,
I've been experimenting with creating SVCD's and I seem to be stuck.
First I captured about 22GB of source clips using VirtualDub on a Win98SE system. I then ran each of the 2GB segments through TMPEG using the SVCD template. The only modification I made was to use 4:3 NTSC instead of 1:1 VGA (the source footage was captured 480x480 but I want 4:3 on the SVCD).
Anyway, after encoding each of the segments into mpeg2 files, I tested them using Windows Media Player (the system has a DVDROM drive and WinDVD). The segments looked very nice in Media Player but looked terrible using WinDVD. It looks very blocky as if the resolution was something much lower and was just blown up. But it looks bad even with "no zoom".
Any idea what might be the problem?
Thanks,
Paul Nixon

Problem solved. Turns out that I was not playing to file I thought I was.
