What's new in this version:
- Added: Ability to add Original DVD chapters.
- Added: Ability to view title before starting your process.
- Added: Fully integrated Basic engine.
Product Description:
DiscomVOBulator allows you to make a DVD backup of a DVD title track. It does *not* clone DVDs, or re-encode them. If your DVD title is too big to fit on a single DVD-R, it will automatically be split to fit onto 2 disks. You can then add chapter marks using the built-in Visual Chapter editor. Just move the playhead to where you want a new chapter and click the Mark button! Or you can apply the original DVD titles. The whole process from start to finish takes 1.5-2 hours, depending on drive and CPU speeds.
DiscomVOBulatorPlus Features:
- Speedier execution, about 25%
- Full retention of all audio tracks, automatically
- Your final DVD will contain all audio tracks of the original DVD.
- Auto joining for "short" Disk 2's to Disk 1 for one 4.3 GB DVD
- Auto chaptering
- Automatically make chapters every 5, 7, 10, 12 or 15 minutes
- DVD Folders output
- Output to VIDEO_TS/AUDIO_TS or .iso... your choice
- Subtitles
- Subtitles will be automatically retained. The colors of the subtitles will be off likely, however you can turn them on or off as they are *real* DVD subtitle tracks
*Note*: To get the original chapter markings, turn Auto Chaptering off (fastmode can be on), and at the end of the extraction process, you'll get the option to add all of the original chapter markings, which automatically show up in the list.

I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté."

I've just mailed off a bug report about Disco+ 1.1, as I can't get it to work on any discs at all. Curiosity has the better of me: have any of you out there gotten it to work? Is there just something amiss with my system?
-
So far, 1.1's fast mode is really too fast. It finishs up in about 10 seconds. Hasn't worked at all in fast mode.
Basic Engine has worked for me once though. -
For those of us that work with Toast disc images it appears that only the basic engine mode works, but it will retain the original chapter marks/stops on both DVD folders created. This is what I always wanted. I tried almost every other method/option first but got crashes and early finishes. The basic mode seems to take longer (especially if you're working with an actual disc instead of an image) but it is worth the wait. Thank you Kai and crew!

Is anyone else having audio problems using these 1.1 D+ discs on their DVD players?
-
I'll answer my own question: The basic engine doesn't work, however a quick "b" revision was released today and all is well with the main D+ program. The program will split a DVD or DVD image in two, retain original chaptering, and give you DVD folders you can drag right into and burn in Toast. THIS IS IT!

Please grab the re-released version. Something got screwed in the build Chris did (his first time...) so I re-built it.
Also, the basic engine works with DVD-Folders now. Also...
Please note that there are still "Disk 2" issues with the plus engine. I'm trying to find a way to mitigate this now that i know *why* it happens but is *VERY* tricky and will probably require a retool of the plus methodology, and unfortunatly, more disk space.
OTOH, it may be possible to go full DVD XCopy style and do the menus as well...but I am *very* leery of this prospect for a couple of reasons:
1. *****************************
2. In some of my tests even stranger things have happened to disk two's subtitles than are happening already

Look for a new version of D+ with a *very* experimental new engine enhancement in about a week.
We are testing it now on some particularly nasty bastard interleaved multiange dvds like Pulp Fiction Collectors Edition, Spirited Away, etc.
Let's just say these bastards have raised my ire so we are going to crank it up a notch or two.
Especially since this is the 3rd Pulp Fiction i had to buy, lol...I'm dedicated to making sure its the last.
