Hi.
I don't have a Geforce3, however, I do have an Asus V6600 256 Deluxe. I've used the included Asuslive capture program.
Using the Asus Video 2.0 to capture, set at level 9-highest quality. It saves in an AVI that is not blocky. Only after using TMPGenc to encode to VCD in MPEG-1 format does it reveal some blockiness.
I must note that when I was capturing old home videos on Betamax, I had different framerates than what I had indicated--29.97 fps. I'm sure it had to do with the fact that the Betamax tape I was capturing was crinkled severely, causing the capture to be varied.
I had capture framerates of 29.45-29.96 fps.
I couldn't JOIN AVI's with different framerates. I did convert them to VCD-Compliant MPEG-1, then JOINED them. That worked and I did not have any audio being out of sync.
However, when I converted the JOINED MPEG, with the suggested Template settings for VCD, I ended up with blockiness on some portions of the JOINED MPEG, which had low fps.
Hope some of this helps.
