ok so i am tryin to fit 700mb AVI file to make a single cd vcd from a cd-r but everytime i convert the file the end is like 1.12-1.2gb large.... how come everyone else can put 700mb avi files onto thier vcd's but i can't im A+ certified and CCNA certified i work as a pc tech and sales man and i cannot figure this out for the life of me... i have a feeling i simply can't find on single cd but i figured i'd check here anyways just in case please help :?
See www.videohelp.com/vcd and you will see that you can only store 74/80 minutes video on a vcd. If you want to store more video make a "xvcd". What tools are you using now? You basicly just lower the video bitrate to fit more video /cd.

Stop using crap software to begin with. Use AutoGK if you want to create Divx/Xvid avi files. Tell it how big you want the file to be, and it will do the rest. If you really want to do it properly, learn about bitrates, bitrate calculators, virtualdub etc. Then you can configure everything to the minutest detail.
But AutoGK does a damned good job without the worry, so I would start there.
