Brand new Lite-on 1633 drive, doesn't write CD's

I have two cd drives, the LG4063 and this new lite-on 1633 drive.

My LG drive reads writes almost any cd/dvd.

However the Lite-on 1633 (new( will not write a cd correctly or verify it.
Tried Fuji,TDK,Sony.

It will write to Ty or tdk dvd'rs


Using XP-Pro- nero 6.6

Received from newegg Fiday noon.

So far they want me to pay for shipping, this means almost a 3 week turnaround..
