As you know there are many dye's on DVD's in which different players can/can't handle, so how do we know which dye's are the best and worse?
Here are a few dye's:
Princo
Nan-ya
Ritek
Maxell
Prodisc
CMC
AN31
Optodisc
Ricoh
Mitsubishi
JVC
TDK
How do we know if they are gonna work on different players and if they are any good.
Most of us have used Ritek and yes they are the best.
1st you can have the best dye in the world and still make a crummy disc if your plant sucks. Also I wouldn't call Ritek the best, I'd perfer Maxell of them myself, but for my dollar I choose Ritek when I buy.

The REAL (ie not Princo fake) TDK's are also pretty good, as are the Nan-ya's and the Prodisc "e-Proformance" discs, if you can still find them, that is. The AN31 AKA Mirror's are good too.
I base my findings on a Sony DVD player which is very fussy about media. The general rule of thumb is if it will work on that player, it's a fairly safe bet it will work on every thing else... !

Isn't that where people say I burned 100 RITEK G04s on my DVR-104 at 2x and they all played great on my xbox.
BTW: I burn Ritek G04s on my DVR-104 at 2x and they play fine on my sony, ge, samsung players. My wife doesn't think i need an xbox :bigcry:
