On Linux, I understand that Brasero is usually pretty shit with BDXLs, and I've been using K3B. The drive that I'm using is a 60$ HP-BU2ON internal laptop writer, and 50GB Blu-Ray discs. As of now I'm waiting on an external enclosure for it, and my failures could very well just come from the fact that I've been running the burning software off of a live session Linux mint installation on an oooolllld laptop (The HDD is fried on it.) I just had to use it because it's the only thing that had the port necessary to use the internal writer. I use windows 11 media server to stream videos to my LG smart TV. The video files are located on an external segate HD. Everything is normal on my TV I select the segate media server, select video, folder, select the applicable sub-folder, select the video and I watch the video.

The problem I am having is when I create a new folder on the segate HD, copy the new video files to the new folder. I then open the media player on the computer and under settings do a refresh of the video libraires. I then try to open one of the new files from within the media server and can see and play the new videos with no problem. When I select the media server on the LG smart TV i can go all the way to the to the new folder I create but I get a message on the TV that there are no video file present in the new folder. I checked and the format of the video files is compatible because I have other files with the same format in other directories which play just fine.

This is ongoing problem and I'm stumped, any suggestions or clues to resolving this problem would be greatly appreciated.

I recently ordered (and today, installed) the Homeworx 250STB. It does not see the folder system on that same external hard drive, never mind the .MTS files inside them. And, it records in a .ts.dvr format. It is supposed to be able to play those .mts files.

Any ideas?

when i edit commercial compilations for youtube, i do all the editing in avisynth. it's really easy in avspmod. it involves multiple trims.

This surprised the hell out of me. It's not like I need to do forensic analysis of bullet impacts and need a million frames a second at 4K, I was just maybe interested in analyzing golf swings lol

The absolute most "affordable" option seems to be Pixboom which starts at $14,000.

Is anyone else surprised by this? My Homeworx 150 and accompanying external 2TB HDD are both getting long in the tooth. I am seeking a replacement for them, but here I want to discuss the PVR options (I already have an external HDD in mind).

There is an update to the Homeworx 150, the 250, which I think also supports 4TB external storage now?? But, I have looked into Tablo and a few others, and it seems these others may not play the .MTS files the Homeworx device writes.

I have no cable and no current plan for acquiring it. Internet access is nice, but not absolutely necessary. ATS 3.0 would also be nice, but it is not a need — yet.

I only run into this issue with 4k videos. I am able to process 2k and 1080p videos no problem. I only use vapoursynth in my gifmaking process, so I'm not really literate with anything outside of that.
