Realistic Compact Moviecorder Model 150 Repair

Apologies if this is in the wrong section, I am new to these forums. A few days ago I got gifted a Realistic Compact Moviecorder Model 150 to be able to record VHS-C. Everything works fine but the belts are melted into a liquid and I have no clue what I need to do to access the pulleys. I've tried to find answers online to no avail, I simply get directed to old catalogs.

This being a gift I've been wanting to fix it but since I can't find the way to replace the belt I've been growing fairly frustrated. Has anyone here serviced this camera or anyone similar to it? Thank you in advance.

[Attachment 92318 - Click to enlarge] So this came today. Everything works like a charm but indoors i get absolutely nothing through the viewfinder other than the "light" indicator on screen. Records devent audio but the playback is essentially black unless looking directly at a light source, in this case my bedroom light. Outside its pretty cloudy and bleak today but it did manage to take some footage that was legible when playing back indoors. What could I possibly do to fix this issue? I've tried cleaning the lens and the light receptors on the front as well as giving it a good blow out with air but nothing doing. I'm at my wits end messing with this thing. Really hoping someone here can help me out or at least has encountered this issue with this model before.

Audio skipping / clipping when playing high resolution videos in VideoRedo

I have an issue where the audio is skipping on some videos when playing in Videoredo software. I think it only does it on videos that are higher resolution. It is a constant on/off about every second. I don't seem to have trouble with videos from our phones, but the videos from our Reolink security cameras always skip.

It is a reasonably grunty PC with a RTX 3070, and the videos play perfectly in any other software, so I don't believe it is a hardware capability issue.

Anyone got any ideas on what could be causing this?

Noob Seeking Guidance Vis-A-Vis Encoding DVDs

Greetings.

I am seeking help since I dont know what Im dealing with. So, I usually encode my DVDs with Staxrip and deinterlace them with QTGMC and if DVDs are of high quality I get decent results (aka better than source). But, with lower quality DVDs (I am a noob, but even I know there are DVDs and then there are DVDs... not all are of the same quality). And when dealing with low quality DVDs this is the most common issue I run into: picrel.

I dont even know the technical term for it, it aint halo although I would describe it as halo. It looks like edges/borders of objects have some sort of duplicate shadow following. Its present during both movement and when there is no movement. What is this called? And, if you dont mind, how can I not get rid of it (I doubt its possible, but if Im wrong great) but mitigate it as much as possible? Im using an older version, like super older version of Staxrip (it works and newer versions are always changing, adding and removing stuff so Im just too lazy and Ive kept the old version which I know my way around with) but have been dabbling with Hybrid from time to time (sometimes TFMBob QTGMC works when QTGMC in Staxrip stutters).

Bear in mind Im a noob, so if someone is willing to educate please do so but as if you were talking to a 10yr old, :D.

RLE Subs and DVD's

When I use AVS2DVD to create a DVD structure using .srt subtitles, the subs aren't listed in the DVDShrink panel.
It doesn't affect playback and if the Re-Author tool is used to cut the video, the subs are still displayed correctly.
As I said, I never noticed before - probably because I never added srt files to AVS2DVD.
Is there a story behind rle that I have just missed?

I don't understand new TV tech

I have a 16 year old Sony Bravia 48 inch TV. After setting it to vivid and maxing out the resolution along with some other settings the picture quality is really quite good. Blacks are dark, movies appear bright and colorful and I can easily see hair follicles and pores in actors faces. Is all this QD mini micro HDR, RGB tech really worth all the hype? I certainly know these TVs aren't going to last 16 years. Your lucky if many of these off brands like Westinghouse, RCA, and Panasonic last more than a year or two.

Test if batch file is being run under Powershell or Command prompt or Terminal window.

I occasionally make up batch files with a simple menu.
The menus are set to display correctly when the windows "Default profile" is set to Command Prompt, not Powershell and also not run in a "Terminal" window.

Also the Default terminal application" needs to be set to "Windows Console Host".

The simple "Menu" doesn't display correctly if not run under settings as set out above.

So I want to cancel running the batch files if they are running under "Terminal" Window or "Powershell".

Also cancel if the Default terminal application" is not set to "Windows Console Host".

I need to know at the start of batch file if it's set to run as "Terminal" settings below.
Of course I can set out the following instructions in a readme.txt but it's better to be able to test and cancel batch file if it's not running as required below.

Instructions:
#1. Set "Default profile" to Command Prompt. Not Powershell. ... Press Ctrl + Shift + 2 while the Terminal window is in focus.
#2. Set "Default terminal application" to Windows Console Host. Not "Windows Terminal" and not "Let Windows decide".
#3. Select "Save".

The issue is the test batch always returns CMD even if I temporarily use �Terminal� to change to Powershell, it never returns a result of Powershell.

Audio Duration

I have Win11 and Movie Stdio 15 and I made a video.

I Render my video with out Audio.

I open my video in MediaInfo and click the Tab that says Tree.

I see the specs for my video and go down to Audio Duration and it says 1:11 Seconds.

So I open Audacity to make my Music and at the bottom of the screen it tell you the Audio Duration.

I make it 1:11 Seconds.

I save it and open it in Movie Studio 15 to put with my video.

The Audio stops a little bit before the video ends.

I know I can Drag the video to fit the Audio or I can Drag the Audio to fit the video but it will look bad or sound bad.

What is going on?

Title. This site has hundreds of movies in great quality for free and I intend to download as many as I can before it goes offline. I tried using the Widevine plugin but it didn't work. At first glance, yt-dlp doesn't work either. Does anyone know how I can download them?

viewing Vhs ... hdmi output better?

I am plugging my vhs player into an Epson video projector with composite output to composite input on the Epson (the projector model does not have svhs input but does have hdmi input). If I get a dvd/vhs combo unit with an hdmi output and use that to input into the Epson will I get a noticeably, better picture projected from VHS tape?

Hi.

I've registered here for some advice, if you don't mind.

I have a home server, serving around 48Tb of media over my network to 12 clients around the house. Most of the media is 1080p, through there are some 4k files. It also hosts a HomeAssistant Virtual Machine. For years I�ve used Plex (And have a Plex lifetime pass), though I�m in the process of migrating to Jellyfin.

For a while now,I�ve been using an Intel N100 based mini-PC as the server. It works fine with regard to streaming content but the plex/Jellyfin user interface is starting to run slower and slower (Doing a media scan can take 8 hours). I think it�s time to consider upgrading it.

Now, being the cost conscious person I am, I�ve have a root through the cupboard of old parts left over from upgrading the kids gaming PCs. I�ve come up with the following:

Intel I7-4790k with 16Gb DDR3 RAM
AMD Athlon X4 860K with 16Gb DDR3 RAM
AMD Ryzen 9 5900X with 32GB DDR4 RAM

None of these CPUs have decent (or in some cases any) onboard graphics, so digging through the pile of graphics cards, I�ve come up with:

Geforce GTX 780ti
Geforce GTX 960
Geforce GTX 1060
Geforce RTX 2060 Super

This PC will only use the graphics card for decoding/encoding video so I really don�t care about 3D performance. Obviously, the best combination would be the Ryzen along with the RTX 2060, however that sounds a bit power hungry for a media server that will be turned on 24/7 - especially compared to the 6W N100.

The other possibility is to buy another mini-PC, maybe Ryzen based with onboard Radeon 780 graphics - though I don�t know how that compares with the Nvidia 1060/2060 for video. It would however wipe the floor in power consumption.

Suggestions, anyone?

Fixing bad WTV metadata

There is no official Season 2 DVD for TV show 9-1-1. I'm attempting to create one for my sister. I have a few of the Season 2 episodes to make DVDs of them for her. Several TV channels I receive cycle through rebroadcasting each season. I just recorded S03 E11 which was supposed to be the "Seize the Day" episode.

It is totally mislabeled and is actually S02 E09 "Hen Begins". My actual "Hen Begins" episode, starts over 9 minutes in, due to some preempting.

Is there a way to edit the metadata for a WTV file so I can fix the major items like WM/SubTitle and WM/SubTitleDescription?
