When I try to read the disc, I get bad sectors, and the game won't install because some files are unreadable. (tried disc images and some recovery programs)
I read somewhere that this happens because the laser has no reflective layer in those spots and passes straight through. And I read somewhere about fixing CDs with painting over them with something, but now I can't find source. Is that true?
Can this be fixed by painting over the holes? Maybe with nail polish?
(Btw, the disc isn't very valuable, so I'm willing to experiment with it,

Symptoms:
  • The video is perfectly in sync locally (VLC, PC players, YouTube on desktop).
  • After uploading (YouTube + other platforms), a constant offset appears (audio is delayed).
  • The desync is especially noticeable on mobile and on files downloaded from the platforms.
  • It is not progressive drift — it’s a fixed offset.

What I’ve already tried without success:
  • Spectral analysis (Spek, Adobe Audition, iZotope RX Spectral Recovery) → cutoff around 12,141 Hz
  • Conversions forcing the original sample rate to 24,000 Hz, 22,050 Hz, 22,500 Hz, then high-quality resampling to 48 kHz (SoX high precision)
  • Forcing Constant Frame Rate
  • Cleaning timestamps (asetrate, asetpts, video_track_timescale, etc.)
  • Different H.264 profiles (baseline, main…)
  • Re-capturing audio via OBS loopback at 48 kHz
  • Mono versions

I’ve uploaded dozens of other videos without ever encountering this problem, so I believe the cause lies in this particular source (history of conversions + very limited bandwidth). Has anyone encountered a similar case and found a definitive fix on the source file side?

Is there anybody out there that would know how to port ChubbyRain2 to Vapoursynth? Or at the very least, know a way to load the avsi file into vapoursynth? I only know how to load the required dll files ChubbyRain needs to use.

Alas this isn't a dll, otherwise I would have known what to do. DeCross works great as a Derainbow filter but it doesn't catch them all, I'd rather use it and ChubbyRain2 to deal with rainbows while not sucking out/changing the original colors of a video which other filters like regular Derainbow and RainbowSmooth do.
