Is there a tool that will generate a new .IFO file for a single VOB file?
Thanks,
Jeremy

Dont forget ... you must use the "get vts sector's" function before you are finished or it will be screwed .
Then there's the checking and correcting the information regarding video type's , output style , audio type's and sub's are correct in both ifo's in regard's to that contained within the vob .
If it is home made and only contain's video and 1 audio stream , then you only need to check the video parameter's in both ifo's match that of the actual video used , and you might want to check the language tag used for the audio in both as well ... set it to english , if that's what it is .
Then save both .
Multiple's :
Vobedit will will list available stream's by id and type ... but you would have to know which language's these are .
Once semi fixed , playback the dvd , avs dvd player is a good one , and flick through the sub's and take a guess at what sub 1 is , then sub 2 , and so on , and do the same for audio , start with the first , and go down from that point ... you can then use these as the language reference's for the audio and sub's back in ifoedit to correct these minor problems in both ifo's , the save both ifo's and it should be fine .
Give it a flash in dvdshrink , it should beable to now tell you what each included sound and sub language is ... I dont think it can do this on it's own without patching up the newly generated ifo's first . -
yeah this is old lovely awesome method
after makeing the dvd with this ifo method my movie stuck in between thats chapter 3 .... (while playing on windows media player) but when i use media player classic i wont get any prob it plays very fine
but my main prob is i cant skip(forward or backward) while movie is going on,with the below scroll bar (i dont know whatz it called) If i try to do it the players get hang . Its works fine with my others DVD movies, mostly those dvd which is writed buy the manufactures i mean original ones and even all those pirated copies :P
dvd copies burned by me show this prob ..... why so any help ??? or i have to do some editing in ifos files??? -

The difference between "commercial" , and "home made" ... or the gap as I prefer it ... is becoming huge by the day .
Home made is simple , the other isn't .
Second , as you partially found out , not all pc playback tool's perform in the same manner , or even correctly .
You might want to add , avs dvd player , or koolplaya to you box of trick's when testing playback , especially when it come's to included menu's .
--------------------
Dealing with commercial disc's , especially newer releases require better tool's to rip to hard drive , such as ripit4me , dvdfab , or my way , pgcedit plus the plugin's and associated tool's .
Then play it back , error checking .
Followed by :
In order to fit them to disc , may also require the use of such tool's as pgcedit (nop buttons , replace title's with custom blank , and more) , vobblanker (similar , though not as capable as pgcedit, but capable of replacing cell's within title's) , dvdshrink , besweet , pgcdemux , rejig / muxman ... and possibly other's , depending on your needs and how far your wiling to go to get it to what you want .
------------------
The "I'm stuck" part ... you might want to use pgcdemux to strip the title into it's component's , then use rejig to rebuild it ... that should cure it ... it's the time line .
Make sure you dont have ffdshow installed ... it's known to play complete havoc with almost everything related to video and audio ... only install it when you need to encode , then get rid of it .
