  1. I have been using MainConcept for about 2 years and before that, TMPGEnc Plus as well as many other encoders but have read so many good reports on CCE, thought that I'd try it. Ive never had a problem before but now, every file I try in CCE returns the message that the XVID codec can't be found (I have enclosed a screenshot showing the exact message). Is there a setting I am missing that will fix this? Thanks

  3. Do you have XVID Codec installed?

  4. Yes, as I stated, I have encoded hundreds of files over the years and have never had a problem with one. As 90% of my encodes are XVID, this isn't acceptable. I may be wrong but I thought I had read of one person that couldn't load DIVX in CCE but I wasn't sure what was meant, at the time. Incidentally, this is the third install of CCE with no change.

Maybe you only have a dshow decoder installed. If so then you don't have XviD installed since it includes a VfW one. What happens if you open the file in VirtualDub/VDubMod?

At this time all other softs recognize files and codecs. All TMPEGenc softs,VirtualDub/VDubMod and many others. I am using Combined Community Codec pack on both machines the one that lets cce work and the one that does'nt even after a fresh complete format and only a few softs installed. Wierd some machines have probs with cce..............
