I'm using the demo version of nero. I copied the file structure of a dvd-5 to my hardrive, and then attempted to burn it using nero. I slected dvd-video and moved the files over to the video_ts folder. I then burned it using nero. It doesn't play on anything. I can explore the disc and the file structure looks identical to the original, but I've tried it in a cheap dvd player and the Xbox, and it won't play. Any ideas? Are there any better dvd burning programs out there? Ive currently made three coasters

Did you decrypt the files first? You must use a DVD ripper as there are keys on a real DVD that cannot be copied to a DVD-R.

Thanks for the response. Yes, I used Smartripper to extract the decrypted data.

Try this. It worked for me. Rip the movie, create image using IFOEDIT's image tool and then burn the image using GEAR PRO DVD. The DVD-R I burned with it play everywhere.
Good luck

I had this problem and after copying the whole disc to H/D I ran IFOedit. Then clicked the GETVTS button and resaves the IFO files back over the original ones. Burn this back to the disc and it plays in standalones.... no idea why but it works!!!
