Hi, I own an Apex 600A, and so far, I can't get it to output anything through the digital output connector and into my Pioneer VSX-D711 receiver. I have read some reviews on this player, and it seems none of the reviews I've read say that it plays Dolby Digital 5.1. So what's the reason for having this DTS/Dolby Digital plug on the machine, and advertising that it plays Dolby Digital, when in fact it can't? For the record, I have the N6 firmware on my machine. I'm confused, is this a firmware issue, or can't this player output DTS/Dolby? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Check your connections, user's manual and audio setup menu. The DVD specification requires that every DVD on the planet has a Dolby Digital decoder built-in.
