It took a long time - way too long - but I'm back
Looks nice! Nice trics with trees, ufo, and especially the drawing, real nice!
Too bad of the poor acting Anyway, I've seen nice things.
A thing to watch is the sound, I'm not talking about the clicks (damn my ears ) but the sudden changes of volume. For the rest, nice movie

Well, since it took you just 3mins, I won't put half an hour in a review as well
It happens very often people tell you things are real nice, because they don't know anything about moviemaking. It can be possitive (they just watch and compare to the pros, and you get good reviews) or not (I always want to improve).
Enough of this, about the movie, very personal, something real nice to look back on (at least that's what I expect ), but too bad you don't really put that in the movie as well. There is a big difference between the scenes, slow and very fast scenes. I would have used more fades, very good to give a warm feeling, something to match with the music and your intention. Why the vibrating movie (with the buildings)?
So overall, think a little bit more about what you're intentions are, do you want to give just an - neutral - overview, or emotion. And it's still possible in three minutes (if it comes to the editing )

Well, here's mine, from a couple of years back. It was recorded with a camcorder, totally unplanned, took a lot of editing afterwards. I only had some cheapass software, I think Windows Movie Maker was my best tool, pretty much, so expect nothing fantastic. I'm just posting it because it thought some Sopranos fans might get a kick out of it.
Basically, I was going to drive to see my grandparents in the country, and thought, what the hey, I'll tape myself driving and edit and add titles and stuff to spoof the Sopranos opening sequence. I used my own name (Salakka) instead of Sopranos, and used 'twisted' names of some of my friends. This was shot in Finland, hence the non-American scenery. I hope at least someone out there enjoys it. Again, try to ignore the crappy quality, I'm no pro - wasn't then, am not one now.
It's about 7 mb and in WMV format. You can dl it from http://www.jella.net/bin/salakkas.html. Thanks! (For some reason when I dl it, it tries to force me to save it as an AVI. WMP should play it just fine either way.) |
Well not very much to say about it, it's just an intro, and I don't know what's behind it. The ending of the intro is a little different what I've expected, but seems ok.

Ready for part II |
Thanks ^_^
Well here's the 2nd part, then there's a final third one.
Bagi Part 2: Search for an Answer |
Watched it, nice choice of footage, looks ok, to really combine the video and audio is real difficult, so all that you can do is putting the mood of the audio in the video.

I would recommend viewing the first parody before seeing this one, so you can get an idea of who the characters are.
Let me know what you think! |
You're damn right! It is cool!
What have you done? Everything, used pictures and animated them all? And how to make the people really speak? I'm really curious

Thanks for the kind words. It probably would have been funnier had you gone to our school and understood the school related jokes. Either way, it was still pretty cool.
The characters, objects, and backgrounds were drawn using Macromedia Fireworks. All images were imported into Adobe After Effects, and were animated. The mouth movements were done using Expressions in Adobe After Effects. The gist of it is: When volume from voice = 0, mouth is closed... When Volume from voice = 5, mouth is wide open... etc...
Not bad for just starting 8 months ago !

Interested in some feedback and creative suggestions. Kinda burnt.
I have been tinkering with this for some time. As I learn more about doing fx's or transitions and other things I start fooling around and get going in different directions.
This is just clips of over 2 dozens vhs-c's I captured and put to some music.
There are some clips not fully trimmed and black outs were I deleted clips and haven't replaced or moved the clips in the timelines.
The first song will stay. NOt sure about the second song.
Originally I had just enough video to cover the first song but as I went thru my VHS-C tapes I added and added.
Its big tho. 58 megs.
Its called Allstars.

There are almost 300 people posted but I couldn't find any article talking editing video with Chinese subtitles. I have trouble doing that because the programes I use couldn't reconize the charectors. Any recommendation?

Guiboche, simply impressive!
Personally I didn't like the AE parts (screens like 'from the director of equilibrium' were made in AE I guess). In my opinion they don't fit with the rest but the screens together match and you also put them in the movie itself (the glasses) so it's still okay, but...
The PP part, wow! Must have been a hell of a job creating a sort of storyboard, grabbing all the footage together and than editing things according to the music, where stroboscopes are a pain in the ass as it comes to editing, so much work, so less time! But, the result is simply amazing. It looks absolutely great, it feels like a real trailer, having people talk under different scenes but eventually also seeing them talk, the slow fades, the changes in pace, the sentences that announced some high motion parts (hello? boom!) (I expected more to come, but perhaps it's better this way).
Personally I like the trailer of alias best, I haven't seen a thing (just live UV), but it made me curious. It had a better pace, simply great sound fx followed by a fade out and really building toward the end. Please, if you have more show us (or at least me!!! please )
