.MOV is too big (What's the best CODEC ?)

What is the best CODEC to use when compressing a file ? I am taking a .mv2 file and making it a .mov with MM2C but the file turns out to be 5 Gigs.

Depends on what you want to do with the compressed file. If you look for quality then try Motion JPEG. If you look for great compression then go for Sorenson 2 or 3ivx.
