alright, here is my problem, i have the Studio PCTV Pro(Pinnacle) and i did have some trouble gettting it installedat first then i had it working fine, could not capute in uncompressed avi, and thats fine, looked great with picvideo but had no $$$ to reg. it. anyway, i had a system crash and was able to get everything running fine but i could not get the card to work so i did a fresh install of windows. not the card can pick up stations of the cable, but it only pics up some when before it picked them all up crystal clear, and in the picture there are vertical lines that were never there before. can some one please help me, i'd start to like capturing again or should i forget the internal tuner and just use the composite or s-video in jacks? thanks in advance.

30 gig ATA100 7200rpm(main drive)
30 gig ATA100 7200rpm(capture drive)

I was looking for a way to use an s-vido cable as well.
I have a scart plug that individually takes in the audio and video cables seperatly.
I want to capture from sky (digital). So could I plug the scart socket with just the video cable plugged into it and use it like that?

Thanks

actually composite is pretty good. much better than straight cable. i don't know about a converter for s-video. i think there is a converter such as a standard rca plug on one end and a s-video plug on the other. but i've been told it would be the same quality as a staight rca cable......

well since the controllers and boards r sending out the signal through the RCA outs, yes, upping to S-Video would be pointless.

Simalrly, downmixing fromm S-Video to RCA is stupid because u loose the extra quality
