Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas as to what kind of DVD player I should get for the following type of VCD:
I basically followed the steps on the vcd help page on converting AVI's to MPG's with TMPGEnc. 352x240 frame size, 1152 kps bitrate, stereo sound- 48 hz, at 192 kps.
I ask because my current DVD player played this type of one in slow motion at 48 hz sound, but not at 44 hz. What DVD players can handle 48 hz for VCDs?
Thank you,
Kristin

Hmm? My Apex and Pioneers seem to play 48k sound no problem. I haven't downsampled to 44.1k in a while now (saves a fair amount of time).

48 kHz sampled audio is obviously outside of the VCD specifications so there is no guarantee that any particular DVD player will work... However, as most DVD players can use 48 kHz audio (i.e., most DVDs), this often will work quite well.
However, if you've experienced problems, then the solution is obvious... With the specific issue your wrote, you mentioned that you used an audio bitrate of 192kbit/s. VCD standard is 224 kbit/s... Why don't you try that. 48 kHz audio may still work for you yet.
Regards.

Well, a friend played my VCDs flawlessly on his JVC player. Maybe JVC or Sony would be the brand to pick?
I used to just play the VCDs on the computer, and have done about 48 discs of my favorite TV show in that format. I can't redo them at a different rate.
Thanks for your help,
Kristin
