I have recorded a number of videos in .AVI-Format with DivX-Compression. They are fine to insert into PowerPoint-Slides and play well.

But i want to show only parts of several different videos. Is there a possibility of making each video start and stop at certain point in time. May by writing a VBA-macro? Can anyone help please i haven't found any answers on any help forums.

Thank you.

I seem to recall something about setting start times, but you may wish to consider an alternative, as I have found that the Powerpoint playback clients behave differently under the various Windows operating systems. The powerpoint client appears <currently? to be optimized for Win98se with Win NT 4 the worst.
I tested on most OS version with the exception of ME and found each and every OS had different timing problems with slides and video playback, and I was using MPEG 1 for my video. In the end I exported the presentation out to HTML and ran it that way, it was slightly slower, but at least video playback worked fine.
