I have a sony DVPS330 and I was wondering how I can play it on my DVD player. I can play it on my PC but not the player. I can play a VCD that I bought on the DVD but not one that I have made. I use SmartRipper, then DVD2AVI, then TMPEG to encode, and Nero (the version from the website) to burn on to Memorex CD-R's. Someone help. Thanks a lot

Nero has problems a lot, usally from a cracked version. The full proof method I like is the Smart Ripper, Dvd to Avi, TMPEnc, VCDImager, and finally CDRWin. Which Template are you using?

Also check the dvd players compatibility list. My sony player (DVP-S360)only works with a very specific cdr media (the cheep generic brand at compusa, tdks didn't work). Usually on Sony players, CD-RW disks usually work. All CD-RW disks I've tried work. I wish I would have checked out this site before I bought my player, the cheep Apex plays play just about everything including MP3s.

My Toshiba DVD player will play a burnt audio CD on a Memorex but not a VCD. Yet it will play VCDs on really cheap CDs no problem. Messed up.

VideoCD (NTSC)is the template that I am using. So you are saying that Nero is bad for burning VCD's? Will a demo version of CDRWin work?

It may be the media problem. Try to burn with other brand. CD-RW is better than CD-R. I found that Mr. Write 4X CD-RW works on most DVD player.
