I cannot copy or create a cd using Nero. Everything was working find up until a week ago when the system suddenly started to hang during the creation process. I have a Tekram pc390 SCSI-2 card, a Yamaha 8424S internal SCSI drive and I am using Windows '98 2nd edtion. I have already tried ASPI drivers, formatting the hard drive, changing the hard drive, changing the drivers for the SCSI card and installing the operating system again with no success. In some of Nero's logs I saw a message "SCSI not using temporary buffers 20 out of 20 temporary buffers allocated". I am full out of ideas and very fustrated. Any help will be greatly welcomed.

sounds like what is happening to me too i have nero 5.5.2.4 which i got because previous verisons would not burn svcds..........since then i have burned many svcds and vcds....but last 2 days i need to drag/drop a simple mpg file on a cd to give to friend to see (only 200mgs) yet computer locks up when burning this ISO cd..... is this your problem can you burn svcds/vcds ok too? ...... i have an hp9510i which i upgraded from an 8250i which worked great.......just wanted more speed...

That is strange! I tried to start Nero (5.5.2.4.) today and it just wouldn't. Yesterday it worked fine. (Is there such a thing as a Nero Independance Day bug???  ) Anyhow reinstalled the last update (5.5.2.4.) again over what I already had and hey presto - it works fine again.

The problem I am having now is that no type of cd will burn correctly. Mainly, I discovered the problem when I tried to create a vcd. My system worked perfectly find the day before, then suddenly this problem. I should also note that it does the same thing in easy creator 4 (system hang), but it is not as often. I was able to create back- ups of my important files before I formmatted the drives.

If you have Easy CD Creator and Nero on your system at the same time - that's why everythings not working now. Easy CD Creator hates rivals on a system. Choose 1 and stay with it!

I have heard that the two cannot co-exist before, but I have had the two installed on my system at the same time since I first got a burner back in February of '99. Over that time period I have formatted and installed everything from scratch a few times. Thanks for the advice.
