I'm trying to find custom firmware for my Lite-on ihes208 BD-ROM/DVDRW drive. I bought it because every product page said 8X BD-ROM read speed but apparently it only does 6X for Dual Layer. From a google search it seems someone has made firmware to unlock the speed but I was unable to find the firmware itself. Anyone know where I could find it? I'm sure it isn't too difficult to find, I'm just coming up dry for some reason.

go to the LITEON FORUM at CDfreaks.com. Opps! They changed their name to "MyCe". Maybe CoDEkING has a firmware for it. I have no clue since I don't own a BD drive.

All they had was stock firmware, which is newer than my drives firmware (Yet Lite-on has no firmware listed for it at their site). I loaded it in MediaCodeSpeedEdit Tool, checked increase read speed and flashed it. Have yet to test it though.

Please update with your results. I have a 208 and was thinking of doing the same thing.

Haven't had a chance to test it yet, no HDD space right now to do a rip, will update when I free up some space.
