Hello everyone,

Whenever I try to import a video in Adobe Premiere CS3, the aspect is all disproportionate. By this I mean that the video I import to edit is smaller than the area of work so there's always blackness around. I realise I need to change the aspect ratios, but I tried EVERYTHING and it never did come out right.

To make all of this easier to understand, here are images of an example:

This is an exported video: http://i34.tinypic.com/293d1s8.jpg

When I create a new project, here are the two tabs I have options with:
http://i33.tinypic.com/345zsrm.jpg
http://i34.tinypic.com/2a9a0so.jpg

I chose DV - NTSC / standard 48KHz in the first window.

In the 2nd window, I chose this: http://i37.tinypic.com/195tw6.jpg

This was the result: http://i36.tinypic.com/wc1j4k.jpg

(I realise now that each tab is a different thing, I gotta choose either the first (pre-made presets) or the second (custom stuff) but oh well)

Another btw, notice how I can resize the video in the right working zone?

Issues: 1- it’s not widescreen like the video itself.
2- It’s still not a perfect fit even if I stretch it..

If you have the patience to load a 22MB movie, go check the last one I did despite this issue at http://www.digitalkarl.com/Salameh_Karl_TP2.mov

After the part where it says "When those who bred you to kill ... ... since your very birth" notice how the fade-to-white effect actually happens on ALL the working area? Well that gives you an idea of how the videos I import never seem to fit to the whole screen, only a small area in the middle.

I've been trying to fix this issue for months now, I truly need help.

Don't use NTSC DV preset. Your import asset is 704x336. Set to square pixel 1:1, 23.976 fps, and progressive as custom settings. Your sequence settings should match your content
