Hi, I've been watching some fast paced sports video with VLC. It plays everything just fine, but since I'm also playing the sports and I would also like to study the movements & shots from the pros, and VLC's drag-drop method is just not precise enough for rewinding to the exact spot I want to watch.

So I'm looking for a video player which I can do the following easily:
1) rewind precisely in seconds, in relation to the current play head
2) slow down to watch the video in slower frame rate.
3) preferably do everything above in full-screen mode & make the adjustments with keyboard shortcuts.
4) compatible with OS X

could anyone give me some suggestion? thank you!

just found the "jump" settings in VLC. So I could adjust it to exactly what I need.

Media Player Classic HC meets all but the last criteria. Ctrl+Down gives you play back at .5, .3 and .1 of normal speed. You can also manually frame by frame the video.

No player that I know of will generate the extra frames required to provide true slow motion.

Another option is to use something like AVI Demux, which gives you frame by frame, or allows oyu to set an overriding frame rate for playback.
