I've just been using imgburn to burn my data dvds that have shows on them

And i can't skip chapters, it just skips entire episodes. Any program that would make chapters by itself ?

Only if you have Divx Ultra player and the individual Divx files have chapter markers.

If each file is an episode then you can probably just use the Next button to skip them, however if you want chapters inside Divx file then you have to author them using a Divx authoring tool, and then play them back either with the software Divx Player, or a Divx Ultra Certified hardware player. If you play them in a standard Divx enabled player then these features will be skipped.

You can burn subtitles (usually SRT files) along side the video files, and most players will find and play them. You can also embed subtitles, however not all players will see and/or use them.

Not just a certified player, but a Divx Ultra Certified player.

You need something like this : http://www.divx.com/en/products/software/windows/author or http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/product/tda3.html or http://labs.divx.com/MenuBuilder (which I believe is the only free tools for Divx Authoring).

You also need patience, because it appears to be a slow and unrewarding process.

You can use "AVIAddXSubs" to add sub, it can add up to 8 subtitles. I think it only take srt.
