I was having no problems with BD Rebuilder. I had made backups of all three X-Men and Pirates. Then I went to make backups of a few more and now all I am getting is encoding failures. I have tried going to a newer version and have also tried older versions, all with the same results. I don't know what happened. Anyone else having these problems? I am trying to shrink these down to fit on a 25GB disc. I didn't change any settings, so I am at a loss for whats going on.

So far it is Taken and Casino Royale. I am about to try Batman Begins. I can't even get ANYDVD HD to read Quantum of Solace to even get to try and compress it!

Taken and Curious Case of Benjamin Button, use movie only back-up. And on Taken make sure you have eng subtitles selected and uncheck the keep only one subtitle for each language box. Otherwise towards the end of the movie you will not know what the foreign people are saying, unless you are fimiliar with the language they are speaking. smile.gif

haven't tried casino royale, but taken worked for me on whichever the current version of AnyDVD it was at the time.

Also are you using the free versions of AnyDVD HD and DvdFab HD Decrypter or the paid versions?

I'm using the paid versions, so that may or may not make a difference.

does anyone know of another program like BD Rebuilder or is that it? I just had Batman Begins fail on me. It said the x264.exe had stopped working.

You might want to try Clone BD. Haven't tried it myself, so don't know if it works or not. It is freeware though.

Clown BD doesn't encode, just rip, remux and write image

you know you can just drop any version of x264 encoder you want into BD Rebuilder right?

I don't understand what x264 encoder does. All I want to do is run BD Rebuilder and have it work. Do I download it and it automatically gets chosen by BD Rebuilder?

x264 is one of the tools that is downloaded when you download BD Rebuilder. But you can also download the latest release of x264 and replace the one that was downloaded with BD Rebuilder. Download x264 then open the BD Rebuilder folder. You will see a tools folder, open it. Then drag your new downloaded x264 file into the tools folder. Windows will ask you if you want to copy and replace your new file over your old file. Click on the yes button. Now BD Rebuilder will use the lastest version of x264.

I'll give that a try. Thanks! One other question. It doesn't fit the theme but I dont want to open a new thread. Do you know why Quantum of Solace will not even play on my PC BR Player? It doesn't even recognize it. I looked for a firmware version upgrade and it says it is up to date.

Not really sure why Quantum of Solace is not recognized. What is your bd drive and software player? I had no problem backing up my disc.

There are a lot of poorly manufactured discs that will have you pulling your hair out trying to figure what is wrong w/ your PC when it is just the disc

I couldn't rip Quantom of Solace till I realized there was a hair line crack on the edge that was almost impossible to see, I have been told this is common w/ the batches of certain titles
