Hello,

I have purchased DVD Pioneer 310 with zone (region)=3. I would need to play zone 2.

How to upgrade the DVD firmware into multizone?

Thanks,

It doesn't hurt to ask, but please note that Hollywood has convinced almost all of the major DVD player manufacturers to stop making players that can change regions. There may not be a way to convert your player to any other region.

You have to wait and see if anyone knows a way to do it. I just want you to know that some DVD players cannot be converted to other regions. Some people think that every DVD player can have its region changed and this is not correct.

Most DVD players sold today cannot have their region changed.

Thanks:

The reason I would like to change the region is due to my country base (Israel) uses region 2 and from some reason, my DVD is compatible with region 3... Don;t know how this happend, but I have bought the DVD within the formal authorized importer of Pioneer within Israel.

So, pending to someone who knows how to convert it.

Thanks,
Uriel

Region 3 is Southeast Asia (Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, South Korea, etc.). And region 3 DVDs tend to be in NTSC format, not PAL. That's strange about your DVD being officially imported.

Anyway, you can rip the DVD to your PC to remove region coding and burn it to a new disc. We have a lot of guides on how to do this:

Note that using DVD Shrink only usually works fine, but DVD Shrink can't rip some DVDs. You are not likely to see those DVDs (they tend to only be region 1 DVDs), but if you have problems using DVD Shrink to rip, you'll have to use something like DVDFab HD Decrypter instead.

Thanks: I have succesfully ripped this specific DVD.

Now, I am interested on removing the region protection in my DVD: How to do so?

Thanks,
Uriel

The region coding should be gone now. All rippers should remove region coding as part of the ripping process.

If there's a way to make the player region free, it should be on the Pioneer FAQ site. I made my 410 region free with modded firmware from that site. Just don't try using firmware for any player other than the one you have, it could kill the player.
