I use Gom player mostly (its my favorite player cuz it has the best fast-forward feature for avi's and mkv's) but when i try to open mkv's made with mkvmerge newer than version 2.60, i get no video & sound. VLC and mpcht play fine. I have the newest version of Gom. Any ideas?

I'm also a fan of GOM Player and use it as a primary player.
I can totally relate to this problem. VLC plays the same video just fine.
I've noticed that it has a problem to open MKV files that are made with mkvmerge 2.9.0.
Here are the details of a video file that GOM Player can't play, while VLC can (source Mediainfo):

Oh, well... seems like a puzzle.... anyways...i just use mkvmerge to convert all mkvs back to version 2.60, till i figure it out.
