Hi all,

I need the updated firmware for my CyberHome DVR-1200 (MU), manufactured August 2005. It works fine except for an annoying warble in the recorded audio, which the update is supposed to (almost) eliminate. I've spent two full days looking for a link to this firmware. CyberHome is no longer in business... something to do with making these units DivX capable without obtaining the license from Philips. I understand the update kills the DivX capability, but I don't care. If someone would be kind enough to send the file(s) to me, I could post a permanent link from which it could be downloaded from.

Thanks...

It is going to be almost impossible to get any firmware for Cyberhome products. I had a link to a third party Cyberhome forum that had people share info and firmware, but they have been off-line for several months now.

I personally have 2 working DVR-1600 units, and 1 parts unit - I know that I am crazy, but I love these units.

Well, do you know if I should be looking for the DVR-1200 or the DVR-1600 firmware? (These links show the firmware names but don't provide the actual files). Everything I've read so far says to go ahead and use the DVR-1600 firmware, and it appears that the 1600 firmware may be found while the 1200 firmware cannot.

OK, here's what I've found, and the download links are good:

DVR1600_MU_ZU_Loader_105N.nrg: http://rapidshare.com/files/2271811/DVR1600_MU_ZU_Loader_105N.nrg

DVDR05MU_489.nrg: http://rapidshare.com/files/2271810/DVDR05MU_489.nrg

these were from http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/17/193089

(The Cyberhome 1600 is the same unit as the ILO DVDR05.)

...and just for the heck of it, here's what I found for the MU1 version:

MU1_LOADER_049S.nrg: http://www.divshare.com/download/429426-a69

DVDR05MU1_610.nrg: http://www.divshare.com/download/429427-c00

...which I got from http://www.techolio.com/forums/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=249 ... 5+firmware

I don't know if any of it works yet. Maybe some brave soul will try them and post here. I've taken too much time tracking down this mess already.

but it still will not read dvds just says no disk.
I tried the 610 & the 495 and it would not read either.

When you say it says "no disk" was his happeing before or after the firmware update or both ? Was that your original problem? Not being able to read DVDs? I thought it was an audio warble ?

BTW- if it will not read DVD or write them you prob. need a new dvd burner in there. I've swapped the burner in my Liteon 3 times already. they do eventally go bad.
