does anyone know if it is possible to replace the burner with a standard gsa-10N type of PC burner?

Friend has one and the burner has dies.

I've read of some being swapped (don't know if they were the same brand/model). You should be able to tell by simply opening it up and looking. I also seem to recall that you couldn't use just any drive as a replacement. So you may need to track down an identical drive or just by trial and error.
