My Pioneer 220-S DVR has died and I need to purchase a replacement. There appears to be two Electrolytic Capacitors that burnt on the power supply board in my 220-S unit.
Can anyone suggest a replacement unit that is as good and has a similar reliability reputation as the Pioneer 220?
I haven't the time or the funds to sample units to find a "good" one. I started out with a Lit-On unit in late '94/'95 before I bought my Pioneer. Lite-On had my unit more than I did and they kept replaceing it with units that didn't work either. I also wasted a lot of money on coasters with few successful burns. That all changed when I purchased my Pioneer 220-S. It served me well.
So what units are others finding good desktop DVR units? Does Pioneer still make desktop DVRs?
I want to thank everyone in advance for any advice and suggestions on a suitable replacement for my dead 220 unit.

There's no such thing as a good DVD recorder in the U.S. anymore. If all you've got is 2 bad caps, replace them, it will only cost a few dollars if you do it yourself.

You can import a Canadian Pioneer, though.
