My father has the Philips DVDR3320V/37 DVD/VHS combo and I read reviews here and for them, it plays XviD/DivX on CD-r
I cant get any to work though. Tried a few different media types as well.Is there some setting needed or hack?
When a CD-r with a DivX clip burned is put in I get an on screen error saying "Unknown Disc"
DVD play fine ( only tested NTSC )

Done with Nero and just 'burn data disc' as I always do and they work perfectly on my Philips DVP 642 but did not work on his.

Yep.

20 second search on google & i could not find one thing that say's this model plays Divx/Xvid rolleyes.gif

I even downloaded the user manual for this model, it say's absolutely NOTHING about Divx/Xvid playback rolleyes.gif
Which would explain why they won't play noexpression.gif

But you should have the original manual for the unit.

If not... GOOGLE is a marvelous thing cool.gif
