does anyone know about setting Sony DVP-NS78HS DVD Player to region-free?
This model available in store only Region-II vers. Salesman say it can made it for me multi-region simply by applying appropriate service code via special Sony infrared remote control, without upgrading software. Is this possible for this model?

If the salesman told you it could, then it possibly can be. But you need the service remote, not the remote that came with the player.
