Could anyone tell me if recorded ac3 direct off satellite for SD Mpeg video is some sort of transport stream which would need "altering" to give ac3 audio, same as what PVAStrumento does for video. I have tried to put recorded ac3 thru PVAStrumento and all it does is crash. Thanks in advance for any help!

Often a demuxed AC3 stream has an incorrect header.

If that's the problem, you can use Besplit (with its BeSliced gui).
Just drop an AC3 into it and "fix".
